Filming in Latvia: film production services in Riga
Filming in Latvia is easier when someone on the ground knows the city, the locations and the rules. We are a Riga-based video production team offering film production services to foreign crews: camera operator, small local crew, location scouting, permits and logistics, in English, Latvian or Russian. A camera operator day with gear starts from 450 EUR, with a precise quote within 24 hours.
Film production services in Latvia we offer
Book just a camera operator in Riga or hand us the whole local side. Most projects sit in between.
Camera operator in Riga
If your director or producer flies in alone, we provide a camera operator with camera, lenses, stabilisation and basic sound. Good for interviews, news-style pieces, events and B-roll. No excess baggage for gear, and the operator knows the city, so moving between locations is quick.
Small local crew
An operator, a sound recordist and a gaffer cover most commercial, corporate and documentary shoots. The crew is used to working together, so setups are quick. We add a second camera, a drone or an assistant when needed, while your director leads the shoot.
Production service and film fixer in Latvia
A local film fixer saves you days of emails. We scout locations, talk to owners and the municipality, plan the schedule, transport and catering, and translate when needed. You get one contact who speaks your language and makes sure everything is ready.
Baltic tours: Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius
Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius are a few hours' drive apart. We have filmed event tours in all three capitals, including Helitehas in Tallinn and Loftas in Vilnius. One crew for every city means a consistent look and less coordination for you.

Filming in Latvia: FAQ
Do I need a permit to film in public spaces in Riga?
A small handheld shoot often needs no special permit, but tripods, lights or blocking a pavement or street must be agreed with the municipality. Private property needs the owner's consent. We review your plan and tell you which permits apply and how long they may take.
Can we fly a drone in Riga?
Yes, but parts of the city are restricted zones, for example near the airport and government buildings. We follow the CAA rules, check every location and get the permissions required for that flight zone. Timelines vary, so mention drone shots early.
How far ahead should we plan a shoot in Latvia?
A camera operator for one day can often be booked within a few days. For locations, permits or central drone flights, start two to three weeks ahead. Lead times depend on the place and who issues the permit.
How do you deliver the rushes?
At the end of each day we copy the footage to your drives or upload it online, and keep a backup until you confirm it has arrived. Editing, subtitles and language versions are available too.
Can you also film in Tallinn and Vilnius?
Yes. We have filmed event tours in all three Baltic capitals. One crew travels between Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, so you do not hire new operators in each country. Travel and accommodation go into the quote.
Do you film weddings for couples from abroad?
No, we do not film weddings. We work on commercials, corporate content, documentaries, interviews, concerts and events.
